Greg Giraldo, Dies At 44


Comedian Greg Giraldo, known best for his roasts on Comedy Central and NBC's Last Comic Standing, has passed away today at 44 years of age. 

Giraldo was being hospitalized in Brunswick, N.J., due to a prescription drug overdose, where his death was officially confirmed. 


 Comedy Central has released this following statement: “The tragic news of Greg’s passing hits us very, very hard. Greg has been a close member of the Comedy Central family for years, injecting his energy and wicked sense of humor into countless projects. The comedy community lost a brother today. Our thoughts are with his family.”

The producers of NBC's Last Comic Standing have also released this statement: “Greg was one of the most talented comedians of our time. He was truly brilliant. His work will surely continue to influence and inspire us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Gloria Stuart Dies At 100 Years Of Age


Actress Gloria Stuart, known for her role in Titanic, as Rose Calvert, died at the age of 100 in LA, California


She was found dead yesterday in her Los Angeles home, her family told the press that she died in her sleep - Gloria was also a survivor of breast cancer, which she was diagnosed for about five years ago.


"She just paid no attention to illness. She was a very strong woman and had other fish to fry," said her daughter, Sylvia Thompson, (quoted in a recent BBC article).


Gloria Stuart was known best for her appearances in several of films during the 1930's, as well as her Oscar nominated role as Rose Calvert, in the 1997's Titanic movie (Gloria Stuart was the oldest actor to ever be nominated for an Oscar). Up until the release of last year's Avatar, Titanic was the world's highest-grossing movie of all time.
